Acer Aspire E1-571-6837 15.6-Inch Deal

Charles Vanderbilt (Lakewood NJ): It’s an impressive laptop to say the least. It hasn't been the most popular selling laptop as of yet, but it sure does pack some decent hardware. This laptop will replace my old HP laptop. Acer has been dominating the laptop charts lately, and their E1-571-6837 laptop honestly appeared as another great release. So if you’re looking for a low priced Acer Aspire laptop, than keep on reading.

Lauren Cline : The touchpad on this Acer was so sensitive (even when adjusted down), trying to type with this computer was a most frustrating experience. The slightest brush of my palm added characters, moved paragraphs and erased entire emails. After two weeks, I gave up and returned it in favor of a Dell that I was able to try before buying. Thankfully, Amazon has a quick and easy return system, but the whole ordeal was still a hassle since I use my PC daily for work.

Acer C7 C710-2847 Chromebook 11.6 Deal

Stephen Aforismo: I only purchased this a week ago, but I find this an amazing piece of machinery. I am astounded how fast the internet is on this and I like Google Chrome. I switched over from IE because I was getting tired of the constant error messages and having it close all the time. I'm glad I did, it's easier to use and very stable. I have an Acer Netbook from two years ago that is great, but slowing down even with 2 GB of Ram. I decided to use that as my "Windows" laptop and use this Chromebook for web-surfing. I even use the trackpad because it is the best I have ever used.

D. Lazarovic (Miami, Florida): I bought this as a side machine to be an in-between for my heavy IBM laptop, and my iOS iPad. I have always loved the Chrome browser (have used since day 1,) so this seemed a logical choice. And the fact that I could play my facebook Flash games on it (can't do that on ipad!) I got this from a groupon, so I didn't pay $200 for it. But after having it a week, I would have. It is a great toy.

Rizzle: I think for the price, this is a very good deal. I got my Chromebook because my Kindle Fire 8.9 is constantly crashing on me when I'm on the internet, in spite of my very good to excellent internet connection. I constantly get the "silk is not responding" signal and the screen freezes too frequently. I get lines showing up, it's frustrating. The video streaming on my Kindle is often blurry, it stops too often during the time I'm watching something. The Chromebook connects to my wifi internet, the only connection I have. I have not been able upload pictures from my camera.

Acer Aspire V5-552G-X414 15.6-inch Deal

Volka: I tried to order this exact laptop from Newegg previously as next day shipping but it took them 5 days and they never shipped the laptop. I cancelled the order immediately, ordered the laptop from Amazon for next day shipping, it arrived on time in one day! NEVER buy from Newegg, shipping and processing is a joke, they are no match to Amazon!

Jarred J. Ibarra "Steel hedgehog" (Oregon) : I have an Intel desktop with an i5-2500k at 4.8ghz, and merely just browsing the web or watching video, I can't tell any difference between it and this laptop. It just simply works. I know AMD's quad-core A10 APUs just barely stand their ground against Intel's dual core sandy bridge chips, but it's still more performance than most people need for their daily facebook rituals. The Radeon 8750m was better than I expected, and can even work in conjunction with the integrated graphics to boost performance.

Mary Johansen : I agree with the previous reviewer about the keyboard issue, it does take a bit of getting used to. The screen can feel a little climsy sometimes, but its fine and i have no hinge/frame problems so far. So far I've only used it to play Civilization V, which is more of a CPU rather than GPU game, and it ran the game fine on the automated settings (Medium-High). I'm going to intall CODMW3 on it and see how it performs :) the battery life is a downer though, can't do much unplugged (study at a coffee shop, having a long skype video call, etc...)

Acer Aspire E1-572-6870 15.6-Inch Deal

Octo1212: With that said, i ordered this at 449 and got 2 (CAMELCAMELCAMEL)...then once i got them, i realized that i assumed it came with a DVD drive (like most laptops that are not super thin) and it does NOT...i contacted Acer and they said to get an external drive...
i did a little more looking and the place for the drive exists...there is a "filler" piece of plastic they have slid in there as a placeholder...i unscrewed the retaining screw on the bottom and slid out the "filler" and shined a flashlight inside to see if a connection exists...it does...the Acer techinician i chatted with refused to admit that i could put a drive in it.

Ted D. Turner (las vegas, NV, US): This brand new laptop arrived in late June 2013 and upon unpacking I was in love. It did have a dead battery but worked on the power brick while charging. That day was my first time using Win8 I was not impressed at all with the stupid changes by Microsoft and wished I had the very same machine with Win7 instead. After a few hours I learned what I needed to mostly turn off the new features from Microsoft so it worked like Win7. However I then had to go online to download a tiny bit of software from PC World magazine that enabled me to add an icon to the taskbar that was labeled "Shutdown PC".

Robert E. Mayer "marley" (atlanta): Not much I can say here other than I got what I bought. It's an Acer, it has everything I need, and it works. If these are the specifications you are looking for in a laptop then you will be happy with this one, provided you don't get a lemon which seems to happen with all manufacturers these days. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Acer Aspire V5-471P-6498 14-Inch Deal

Navin Goyal (New Jersey): The laptop is pretty decent. Backlit keyboard is cool but feels a little delicate..not a big deal though. Had issues with the wifi connection dropping randomly but uninstalled the driver and installed newer driver from Acer's website (Please see that if you check the driver already installed it says the driver is up to date. But there is another latest driver on Acer website. So you will need to manually uninstall the current driver and install the newer driver). No more issues with the wifi dropping so far. Got a nice deal from Amazon. The speakers are great. Need to get used to Windows 8.

D. Larson "4reel" (Mineral Point, Wisconsin) : I purchased this computer mostly for wifi use and traveling. When I first tried it slow would have been to kind of a word. Windows 8 was another issue but that is training more that a problem. I brought up the task manager, ctrl, alt, del and watched the resource meter. Symantec was eating more than 50% of the resources and even more during an update. I removed Symantec and installed Kaspersky instead and it made a huge difference. I installed Classic Start 8, which s free and the computer now works as I hoped it would. Hope this helps

Chaman : I saw all the other reviews and recommendations for reloading the wifi driver and accomplished that no problem and have had no problem with connectivity with my router. On the other hand, the touch pad is WAY TOO TOUCHY! and is large enough to be around my hands no matter what I'm doing on the PC typing. For example, while I've been typing this response, the screen has been jumping all over the place and jumped to the START screen before I could push the ESC key.
I placed two calling cards on either end of the pad, but that has only been partially successful in keeping the touch pad deadened to my touch.

Acer C710-2055 11.6-Inch Chromebook Deal

Ctman2 : Your instinct is to compare it to a Windows PC but this is a new internet device which is 100% cloud based. Its also a Google product machine yet it runs thousands of apps one of which is MS Office 365 which is cloud based if you must have complete compatibility with MS Office files. Security is a strong point since no Win malware can infect this new OS and you don't need anti virus at all.

David Wintrich : I have never written a review before, due to the fact i have never felt the need to. This is a great supplemental computer. I not sure I would have it for my only computer for now but i can see it becoming one in the near future after some needed upgrades (Skype for one). If it had Skype it would be the perfect computer for deployed military members. I have been deployed multiply times so when i say that i want you to know where i am coming from. It is quick and exceptional for travel. People complained about the weight but that complaint carries no weight. 4 1/2 stars is what it deserves but that's not a choice.

R. Tupelo Schneck : Am learning more all the time, but have found it to be very useful once I resigned myself to using mainly Google Docs, which I had resisted up to now. It was a good thing to learn, because my misconceptions about its limits proved to be pretty much unfounded. Part of this machine's role will be as a travel laptop that will need to access company documents sometimes, and I now know that - while I might not be doing heavy editing or writing a new SMS manual in Google Docs - it will work for what I do need it to do. I also like the speed of the OS, both starting up and on the web.

Acer Aspire One AO756-2641 11.6-Inch Deal

Gina Love "G.L.Fire" (Ohio): I wouldn't call it the most sophisticated tech I ever bought, but after downloading Microsoft Office Home and Student (purchased separately), it's an affordable option that meets my needs. I think that's the key to any technology purchase--know your needs. Mine are emailing, writing, research, surfing, shopping, socializing, and other pretty low-level uses. If these are your needs as well, this is the machine for you.

Mary K. Maguire "mkmagu" (Rindge, NH) : I purchase this after getting a used acer 10.1" netbook and found the keyboard to small to do any real typing on it. This netbook has a fantastic 11.6" display that gives sharp video playback. The keyboard is good size and allows for easy typing. The weight and size make it very easy to carry around. On the negative side I wish the battery held a better charge and the touchpad can be a little over sensitive. I ended up getting a wireless mouse which solve my problem with the touchpad which I think is more me than the netbook. I have my netbook set up to dual boot into Windows 8 & Linux Mint 13. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

Tate O'Brien "Tate Obrien" (USA): This compact computer is efficient for simple needs such as surfing, letters, blogging and a few hidden games/solitaire. I love the color (Red) and how lightweight it is. I loaded StarOffice (thanks amazon) as not to purchase another expensive license. Star office is compatible with all office programs and it works similar to office XP (good enough for me). I digress, battery life is efficient for me and my needs. I purchased my system through Wal-Mart during a sale for $198.00 which is what I think this system is worth. Not good for high powered games or extensive wear and tear.

Acer Aspire NX.M83AA Deal

Michael J. Sutton (Westminster College, Gore School of Business, Salt Lake City, UT): I was very impressed with the arrival of my netbook. I needed an inexpensive netbook because my recent tablet fried itself. The netbook arrived in excellent condition. Out of the box it was up and working. I needed to spend about 8 hours going through updates to the Windows operating system. But i expected having to reboot after upgrades, since this has happened before with other computers who had an initial image of the WIN 7 operating system when it was manufactured, but needed to catch up. Keyboard is acceptable. Glide mouse works great. Sreen is ample when I am in Starbucks, but I plug into a larger Acer flat screen when I work from home.

Tracy Kingsley : It is the best thing, I think, I could have found for the size and specs I wanted. I'm not crazy about the 1 GHz however it does have more Ram then most little computers, I believe. I am very please with it; I was nervous about getting a computer small then my Viao, but I really do like it. I would have to say what I don't like about it is the top is a finger print magnet and the charger hook up is kinda tricky to plug in. It is a bit slow, but that's only because I'm going from a 2.4 GHz to a 1. All in all, it's little, a Windows 7 (yay!) and gets what I need for my classes done. I would recommend this computer.

Paul Smith: Literally to be used for online web surfing and other quick minor cpu uses...the color is all black don't be fooled by the picture. No disc drive just so you know...besides that its pretty stylish small, compact and light. I would say perfect for the person who is constantly on the go. Also makes my backpack a lot lighter than my last laptop, perfect for college students.

Acer AOD270-1375 10.1 Deal

Anthony L. Rivera : I have done this because I am tired of seeing reviews of people who bought this product expecting to be able to play Call of Duty, surf the net, watch netflix, and do homework all at the same time. It is a netbook people, it is made to be portable, light weight, and do basic computing such as typing a document, and surfing the web. Can it do those other things? I do not know because I use it for its intended purpose. With that said, I am very happy with my netbook. I bought the bundle Amazon offered and it included the Acer Netbook, 2gb RAM chip, and a neoprene carrying case which I am all happy with! The netbook is not blazing fast, but it is not super slow either. I have the 2gb RAM in and I am fine with the speed.

Purvertedmunk : This baby comes with the latest N2600 Processor with Dual core. I can't believe its so cheap. The older generation i3's even cost more! Its also very energy efficient and compact. The battery lasts a nice long time due to the 3W processor. I would say this is the best deal I have gotten ever for a low cost high quality netbook. Also the used netbook I bought still came with a warranty, so why would I buy a new one and pay more? Not only that but the software that it comes with is great too. How many netbooks come with Windows Office 2010.

Team W "teamw23" (Silver Spring, MD United States) : Construction seems just fine. The top is a complete finger-print magnet, but whatever. It isn't all metal like a MacBook Air or anything, but it doesn't seem like it is going to fall apart immediately either. The keyboard is a bit cramped because the whole thing is so small. It is big enough to use (I'm writing this review on it), but you would not want this to be your keyboard for anything more than light email and occasional word processing. The keys are very flat and a bit spongy, the backspace key is too small. It is good enough for light duty use, which is all this machine is really good for.

The video streaming on my Kindle is often blurry, it stops too often during the time I'm watching something. The Chromebook connects to my wifi internet, the only connection I have. I have not been able upload pictures from my camera. Maybe there is an app for that. Almost everything works through apps, the essential ones are completely free, so it may be more appropriate to call this "App Book".

Acer C7 C710-2856 Chromebook Deal

T. Herburger "31B" (Fort Stewart, GA USA): The Acer Chromebook is a great computer for someone looking for a computer to do internet browsing, light gaming, and light productivity. You can not download any programs to it, but there are a ton of apps available to fit almost every need (word processing, spreadsheets, photo editing, games,etc.. check google chrome store to see what's available if you have any questions). Think of it like a tablet with an app store in that regard.

T. Herburger "31B" (Fort Stewart, GA USA): HD 1080p video streams smooth with no frame rate issues, even in full screen. Aquarium WebGL renders 40 fps on a high setting with 500 objects on screen, and 35 fps with 1,000. The HD webcam is great, and video chat works with no issues. The speakers are a little quiet for my taste, but you can hear everything just fine, just don't expect it to fill a noisy room with sound. HDMI out works perfect with my HDTV.

R. Tupelo Schneck: While it is not for everyone, if you're looking for a computer to just browse the internet, watch videos, app and internet based gaming, do word and spreadsheets, photo editing, video chat, etc... basically what 90% of people do with a computer anyway...this is the one to get. If you want to play games that you need to install to the hard drive, run a serious business, or have a slow or spotty internet connection this is not the one to get.

Acer Aspire V3-772G-9829 17.3-Inch Deal

NobodyUknow (SoCal, usa) :Solid construction. Little to no keyboard flex. And snappy keyboard with the correct amount of press and spring back. Plastic to made to look like Annodized aluminum top, but there is still some screen flex if you try to flex it. But it looks very NICE. with the screen closed the laptop is very sturdy and solid feeling. Hinges have just the right amount of tension. Not a fan of the mouse pad. But I mostly use a usb mouse anyhow. And in reality the mouse pad is not that bad.

N. Haws "N.H." (Illinois): I've had this computer for a couple of days now and I am really impressed with the laptop. It's quick to open programs and it has run the few games I have played on it so far with no issues. There is a bit of a learning curve with Windows 8. I have had a little trouble with the touchpad as it is quick to count a swipe as a click. I haven't played much with the settings so there may be something I can do about that. With a 17+" screen this isn't exactly going to fit in your pocket. That said between the large screen and the Dolby speakers this thing looks and sounds great.

TheSki :I searched for a week before i ran across this. i had seen many laptops with less than what is in this thing go for hundreds more. The 750m gpu will run The Witcher 2 on almost maxed out settings smoothly and the 4 DIMM slots make it easy to upgrade your ram. Haven't pushed the CPU yet so can say much about it. The downside.....windows 8, and finding the correct drivers to run on windows 7 for the equipment installed. still cant find a ethernet driver that works. I installed a SSD and it boots lightning fast, less than 15 seconds to the internet and that is on the long side of it. Other than that i do recommend it, keep in mind this thing is huge and needs good airflow because the gpu will get hot under load.

Acer Ultrabook Silver 13.3" S3-391-6046 Deal

Ttien phan: Thin, light, good build, keyboard and trackpad work good (need to adjust sensitivity to your liking) Screen is sharp enough and bright enough, wifi works great, hybrid sd card works great, boots up in 10 seconds from cold. and 2 seconds from hibernate. shuts down in less than 5 seconds. (you'll have to do some windows 8 speed tweaks to optimize it, i suggest advance system care which has lots of startup options).

Citibank: The only complaint I have is the battery life is very short. The Amazon listing didn't say anything about it, but a PCMag.com review said that Acer listed it at 5.5 hours, and their tests gave it 4 hours 45 minutes. The computer itself says it only has 2.5 hours when fully charged, but it actually runs down much faster than that. I would say the battery only lasts 1.5 - 2 hours, max. I will update my review if I find a way to improve this. I will be contacting Acer to see if there's a way to fix this problem.

Shady : First off, the computer is very nice. It's thin & very handsome. Has a brushed metal case that reminds me of expensive Apple products. Lightweight and thin. Windows 8 operates fine. We loaded a student version of MS Office on it. No problem. The reason for 3 stars is the time it took vendor to get it to us. Vendor reported shipper lost it and, said they would send another unit. I finally received unit after waiting a full month. In the meantime, my student daughter lost valuable time & had to continue using her Mom's computer. Acer Ultrabook Silver 13.3" a nice computer. So, I forgive the slow shipping and, hope that Amazon continues to provide better service in the future.

Acer Aspire NX.M12AA Deal

David W. Mello: I bought this computer from Acer. It arrived and I immediately used it using my Wifi. The connection would connect then cut off, then connect, then cut off, every minute or so. I called Acer. They told me to do a few things including downloading and reinstalling the wifi driver. That didn't fix it. I told the guy that I already did that before I called them. I asked them if they would just send me a new wifi card (internal) that is very easy to replace, but they declined stating that I have to send the computer back for a replacement computer. Before doing so, I decided to do a search on the internet for a fix. I found it.

Tony NYC "Tony NYC" : For the price, this is an excellent computer. I gave it three stars because Acer should have been able to tell me how to correct the WIFI problem and the sound should not have been set to a LOW maximum volume.
Not all models have these problems, as they use different parts from different vendors when building these, as all computer companies do, but if you have either or both of these issues, the two fixes I gave will fix your problem.

Flutterby42 : So far so good. This laptop is nothing fancy, but gets the job done for our teen son. He says it plays his new video games without stalling or jerking, which means the integrated video is up to the task (but by no means is this a gaming laptop). The 4 gigs of ram is fine too on Windows 7. But it you need more it IS upgradable. Something that's not easy to find at this price point. Figure everything you need and nothing more for just over 4 bills.

Acer Aspire V5-571P-6698 15.6-Inch Touchscreen Deal

Yogo "yogo" (california): I purchased this computer , because I had a windows 8 computer that was confusing to use.
This laptop has a nice keyboard that is quiet, and the keys are smooth. The screen is bright
with a sharp picture. The thing I like most, is the card reader works with xd memory cards. I have
a Fuji Film camera that uses this card. Windows 8 does not work for me. I was happy to find this laptop.
I am going to hold on to it as long as I can.

Karen R (USA): You can buy the same computer with Windows 8 for considerably less. There is a reason why. Microsoft 8 is killing the PC market. I bought an HP laptop with Windows 8 several months ago and it is a horror. I hate the computer. I have researched and Windows 8.1 does not appear to be much better and it is not even available yet. And so I just ordered 2 of these laptops to get Windows 7 while they are still available. It is difficult to find them in stores. My software is not compatible with Windows 8, many files do not work, my scanner did not work, my printer is agonizingly slow. It is a HORROR. Microsoft should recall all of the Windows 8 computers it sold.

Cas Walker (Abq): This past week I tried to use my USB3 Toshiba 1 TB portable hard drive on each of the USB3 ports. But it kept disconnecting & reconnecting making it unusable. I tested other USB3 portable drives and had the same spontaneous disconnect problem. These drives work fine on the USB3 ports of my Win8 Samsung laptop & my Win7 Dell desktop. These portable USB3 drives get power from the USB3 port.

Robert E: Installing their external hard drive with our family photos was also easy to do. The screen quality is good. With their old Vista PC, the slide show did not function well. I did not need to worry here. It shows Youtube videos without hesitating, which I tried after the Adobe Flash Player was updated.

Lara Davis (NY):  I was also motivated by the fact that I've had an Acer tablet for 3.5 years and it has been a reliable and sturdy little machine. Acer products are not high on "glamour" and "bells and whistles" but get the job done for significantly less than more popular tech manufacturers. My assessment of the laptop after a month comports with my prior Acer experience. It does everything it should for my laptop needs. If you have more specialized or sophisticated use (such as heavy gaming, etc.) perhaps this would not be the right machine but for basic web browsing, document production, music and videos I couldn't ask for more, especially for the price. Browsing is fast, even with lots of windows open. Keyboard is more spacious than many other designs, which I like. No complaints at all.

Roman: First of all it has 1005m 1.9ghz processor. Second of all it has 1 stick of ram. It means you can bump up the performance for $25 bucks with another stick of 4gb ram. It has sharp acreen, great colors, very decent speakers, soft and responsive keyboard. Also comfortable trackpad with engraving to feel the scroll. You can not go wrong with this machine for the price, just ignore word Celeron, CPU is pretty fast.

Acer Aspire V5-131-2629 11.6 Deal

Edward J. Doura (Rhode Island): This laptop had everything I was looking for; Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Celeron 1007U 1.5 GHz dual core processor, 11.6" screen (1366x768), 4GB DDR3 ram memory, 500GB hard drive, Intel GMA HD Graphics, WIFI A, G, N and Bluetooth 4.0. It also has three USB ports (2.0) and not 3.0 as advertised along with HDMI, VGA and Ethernet ports. It also comes with a 6-cell lithium ion battery with a battery life of 6.5 hours. The battery does protrude at the bottom of the laptop, but in turn gives it a nice angle to use. You can order a four cell battery replacement if you want a slimmer and flush look to the laptop at the expense of battery life. I ordered one and will use the 6-cell battery as a spare.

P. Holowaty: I am upgrading to this unit from an Aspire One 751, which was also based on a dual-core Celeron but from the Core2 generation. Other than not being a fan of click pads (industry standard these days) and the lousy internal speakers, it's hard for me to find things about this notebook I don't like, especially considering the $350 price tag. I was surprised to see that Acer didn't cheap out and provided a nice 6-cell battery.

Jennifer Dages (Pennsylvania, United States): Although I only got this laptop this week I am very pleased with it. I was looking for something in between a regular laptop and a tablet and this is it. It only weights about 3 lbs which is perfect. It still has a full keyboard and a 12 inch screen so it is not hard for me to use but it is light to carry around. I did order a case for it. It came easy to set up for a wireless network. I got Skype loaded right away and it is great b/c it has a camera installed so works well with Skype. I wanted Windows 7 and it has that so I am also pleased with that. So far the battery life seems decent and I am trying to keep it charged up for when I leave the house with it.

Acer Aspire E1-531-2438 15.6 Deal

Robert E: First I'd like to clarify the product description. The processor chip is actually an Intel Celeron 1005M. The rest of the description is accurate. My needs are for internet, spreadsheets, word docs, email, photos, videos, Netflix, Youtube, Amazon, Google Earth, games, animated weather maps, specialty soft ware for flight planning, etc. this laptop does all that with ease.
It is well made. All components seem perfectly matched. AND BEST OF ALL...IT COMES WITH WINDOWS 7!!!!!

Anon87 (Claremont, CA): I own other Acer laptops, the Acer Aspire One 725-0899, Win 7, which I use for word processing and business trips. It sometimes hesitates during Hulu viewing, but for the convenience of portability that fits in my purse, it's okay. I don't like the SD slot, in which the cards stick frequently, requiring tape and pressure with fingers to extract the card. I have 2 old XP machines, which are Aspire 5002 WIMI and an old netbook Aspire One, which are compatible to my workplace computers. I still use them sometimes.

Lara Davis (NY): Earlier this year I purchased a slim/lightweight compute with Windows 8 and hated it. The "app" interface was very off-putting to me in the laptop setting, and though you can use the "desktop" side it did not have full operational control of the computer and you still had to do some basic things on the "app" side. Others may like it fine, especially if you like social media integrated into everything you do (I don't). But it was not for me. I began looking for comparable inexpensive lighter-weight laptops with Windows 7, as most new machines are outfitted in Windows 8. After searching for a bit, I came across this Acer. I read the Amazon reviews as well as a few "tech" reviews I found on the web and gave it a try.

Acer C710-2834 11.6-Inch Chromebook Deal

Stephen Aforismo: I only purchased this a week ago, but I find this an amazing piece of machinery. I am astounded how fast the internet is on this and I like Google Chrome. I switched over from IE because I was getting tired of the constant error messages and having it close all the time. I'm glad I did, it's easier to use and very stable. I have an Acer Netbook from two years ago that is great, but slowing down even with 2 GB of Ram. I decided to use that as my "Windows" laptop and use this Chromebook for web-surfing. I even use the trackpad because it is the best I have ever used.

D. Lazarovic (Miami, Florida): I bought this as an extra computer to have around the house. The biggest weakness is the inability to print unless your using a google cloudprint enabled printer. If you want to have an extra computer for the kids or guests to use, one that can't get messed up (no viruses, no settings to change), and you only want to spend $200 this is a good product.

LowCarbWoman (NY United States): I bought this as a side machine to be an in-between for my heavy IBM laptop, and my iOS iPad.
